The Inffinito Festival Circuit has, for 15 years now, taken the best of the Brazilian cinema to Vancouver, Miami, New York, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rome, Madrid and Barcelona. In London, the festival will open its second edition on Wednesday 1st September, at the Bafta, with the premiere of Lula, The Son of Brazil, a remarkable and emotional life story of Brazil's current president, based on the book of the same name. The film follows Lula’s distressing life trajectory, from shoeshine boy to leader of his own country - an awe-inspiring achievement. This year the festival and Bafta introduce The Marketplace, which will bring some of the biggest names in the Brazilian cinema industry to the UK: Manoel Rangel, President of Ancine, the National Cinema Agency; Oscar and Bafta-nominated director Fernando Meirelles, and several of Brazil’s most important film producers, Lucy and Paula Barreto, among them. Together with UK delegates, they will discuss new opportunities for co-productions between countries and incentives from the Brazilian government in this special industry initiative to be held at Bafta on Friday 3rd September from 2pm to 6pm. Entry is free but by application at www.bafta.org Bafta 01st and 3rd September
