My name is Dan Guest, and I'm a student studying Film & Media Production at Sheffield Hallam University in my 3rd and final year. I'm currently in pre-production on my major project which is a short film called "Cupid" in which I'm Writer/Director. Here is a brief synopsis of the film: A fantasy, romantic, comedy/drama, set in modern times. A young, 20-something Cupid is fed up and wishes to quit his job as the world's 'match-maker' after discovering a beautiful girl, Katie, who doesn't 'match' with anyone in the world. He believes if he joins the real world as a normal and physical human being, by confronting his Boss, throwing down his crossbow and clipping his wings, he will finally be able to find his own true love. When the film is complete, it will be screened at the Showroom cinema in Sheffield as part of our graduation screening. Our aim after that is to then enter the film into festivals around the country.
