About the Tutor: Leigh has been working in documentary production for over seven years. She has helped worked on and raised finance for productions such as Escape from Luanda (More4) and also a ten year project in Afghanistan called ‘The Boy Mir’, due for completion in 2011 (More4). In 2007 she won the Mipdoc Co-production Challenge in Cannes and has secured funding from sources such as Media, Sundance Institute and pre-sales from international broadcasters. Leigh has used a hybrid model of distribution for many of the films she has worked on. This includes theatrically self-distributing documentaries in the UK and US, securing distribution deals for multiple rights and also online and DVD distribution.
