Feature films and shorts. Our focus is on horror and fantasy, but we are also interested in Science Fiction, crime thrillers, black comedies and even experimentatl films which exhibit a suitably dark and macabre sensibility.

Grimm Up North operates an open submissions policy, with submission forms available from our website . Submission fee is £10 for Short Films and £30 for features.

Grimm Up North, Manchester Horror and Fantasy Film Festival. Four days of black-hearted cinema of the uncanny, the fearsome and the fantastic, with guests, seminars and performances both live and undead, the festival seeks to expand the parameters of the cinema of terror, to blend and bend genres, and challenge expectations, moving from the mainstream to the cultishly obscure, from the underground to the avant garde - just so long as the mood is dark and troubling.
